Velliangiri Darisanam - Part 2

We were twelve of us and ten walked before me and we two, myself and Narayanan were following. I should clearly state something here. If at all I was able to do something, it was because of the Forefathers Blessings, Divine Blessings and Narayanan's support for me. Narayanan is by itself a very mystical person with high premonitions and a very low profile person. Whatever he utters comes out with some reason, which could actually sound illogical for the person who hears it. Narayanan's wordings are honored with time. Such a great soul was guiding me and helping me during this Velliangiri Darisanam.

The first mountain is full of steps. Some tell it is 3000 and some tell it is 5000. I'm not sure. One is expected to just keep walking here and not bother about when the steps are going to get over. I remember that when I first climbed, I came to the middle of this first mountain and asked a descending person 'how long shd I walk?'. He smiled and told 95% yet to be walked...!

The steps are half foot to one foot high and you realize they are 'great places' to climb, only when you reach other mountains. When you come to a plain terrain and when you see 'Vellai Pillayar' you know you have completed the first mountain. The lemon salt soda in the soda factory opposite to the temple is a must for all Devotees. I actually had two glasses of lime salt soda and fall on my back for a small nap. My team's fore runners were in no mood to wait and went ahead. I was going at my own pace and my own time, the time He had dictated.

After a good power nap, myself and Narayanan started again and reached the 'vazhukku paarai' the second mountain's indicators. This is also a long walk and all on the cut out surfaces of the rocks. For obivious reasons there are no shops in second mountain. When you complete the 'vazhukku paarai' you know you've finished second mountain and started getting into third mountain...! It's a great entry into 3rd mountain, which gave us the needed break and sleep...!
